Re:Searching Detroit

Re:Searching Detroit is a preliminary exercise in making architectural history public. It is a digital archive that consolidates existing research on Detroit while offering new narratives regarding the city’s present, future, and past. Much of the analyses are derived from the nearly 15 years of research that I’ve undertaken on the city. Rather than keeping such discussions purely within the domain of formally-trained scholars, I am building the site in the hopes that design practitioners, journalists, amateur historians, and anyone curious about Detroit and urban history may find this information interesting and of use.
